What it does

Goals on top. Work below. Connected.

A focused integration for ops, marketing, product, and customer teams who run on Asana — and want goals that reflect reality, not last week's status update.

Most teams have a quiet gap: OKRs live in one tool, the actual work — campaigns, launches, customer projects, product workstreams — lives in Asana. The two never meet. Initiatives get marked "Done" weeks after the underlying tasks finished. Goals drift out of sync with what's actually shipped.

OKRs Tool for Asana closes that gap automatically. Search Asana tasks from inside OKRs Tool, link them to initiatives, and let task completion roll up to your goals. When the Asana task is marked complete, the initiative closes itself. No manual updates. No duplicate work.

What you get

Built for teams who run on Asana.

A focused, opinionated set of capabilities — not a kitchen-sink Asana clone.

Search Asana tasks by name

Find any task in your connected Asana workspace without switching tabs. Type a name, get matches — same flow as the search bar in Asana itself.

Link tasks to initiatives

Attach Asana tasks to any initiative under a Key Result, both in the create modal and the edit modal. One initiative, many tasks.

Asana badge on every initiative card

Linked tasks display a clear Asana badge on initiative cards — visible in both Kanban view and List view. One glance: is this work moving?

Auto-close initiatives when tasks complete

When a linked Asana task is marked complete, the initiative is automatically marked Done in OKRs Tool. Goals reflect reality without a single manual update — the most useful feature you'll never have to think about.

Closes the loop automatically

Daily sync at 02:00 UTC

A daily cron syncs task status overnight. Predictable timing so your morning OKR review reflects yesterday's work — no manual refresh.

What this isn't.

Worth being clear up front. OKRs Tool is not a replacement for Asana — and we're not trying to be. We sit above Asana at the goals layer, not next to it at the work layer.

  • We don't replace Asana's task management. Projects, sections, dependencies, custom fields, workflows — that's Asana's job. We don't try to do it.
  • We don't write or modify Asana tasks. The integration is read-only on Asana's side. We pull task metadata; we don't change task contents, due dates, or assignments.
  • We don't replace Asana Goals. If you're committed to Asana's full ecosystem and use Asana Goals heavily, you may prefer staying within their tools.
  • We're built for one buyer. Heads of Operations, Chiefs of Staff, and senior leaders at 50–200 person companies who want OKRs that survive cycle two — not enterprise program management.
Expand plan only

For teams who run operations at scale.

The Asana integration is part of OKRs Tool Expand — $129/month flat for unlimited users, with SSO, audit logs, RBAC, concierge onboarding, and the API. Built for organizations where OKRs need to plug into the actual work, not live in a separate doc.

Permissions & privacy

Built with the minimum permissions needed.

We only request what's necessary to read Asana tasks and link them to your initiatives — nothing more.

Asana permission scopes

The integration uses standard Asana OAuth 2.0 scopes through our developer app. We do not write to or modify Asana tasks — the integration is read-only on Asana's side.

  • default — read access to tasks, projects, and workspaces you authorize
  • tasks:read — read task name, completion status, and due date for linked tasks
  • users:read — read your basic Asana profile to associate the connection with your OKRs Tool account

Data & privacy

Task metadata is fetched via OAuth tokens and stored only as references (task IDs + names) on your linked initiatives. We do not store task descriptions, comments, or attachments in our database. You can disconnect the integration at any time from inside OKRs Tool or your Asana account.
